* Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is mandatory for Student Visa holders and their accompanying family members. $768 per year is provided as a guide price, costs can vary by supplier. OSHC fees are reviewed annually. Students may organise their own Overseas Student Health Cover or request that the College arranges it on their behalf. ** Fees are current at November 2024 and subject to further increase. All fees are in AUD and include GST where applicable.
FEE-HELP
Kaplan Higher Education Pty Ltd trading as Murdoch College is approved as an Institute of Higher Education under section 16-50(I)(b) of the Higher Education Support Act 2003 (HESA), enabling students enrolled in eligible courses delivered by Kaplan Higher Education Pty Ltd to apply for FEE-HELP. FEE-HELP is a loan from the Australian Government available to eligible students to help pay part or all of their tuition fees when they study a higher education course at an approved higher education provider. There is no loan fee payable if you are undertaking a postgraduate course at Kaplan Higher Education Pty Ltd.
To be eligible for a FEE-HELP loan, you must:
-
be one of the following:
- an Australian citizen who will study at least one unit of your course of study in Australia; or
- a New Zealand Special Category Visa (SCV) holder, or eligible former New Zealand SCV holder; who meets the long-term residency requirements and who studies the entire course while living in Australia; or
- a permanent humanitarian visa holder or an eligible former permanent humanitarian visa holder who studies the entire course while living in Australia; or
- a Pacific Engagement Visa (PEV) holder who will be a resident in Australia for the duration of your unit(s)
- an Australian permanent resident who has been approved for bridging studies
- be enrolled in a full fee-paying place at a provider that offers FEE-HELP loans
- be enrolled in an eligible course at your provider by the census date (your provider can tell you if your course is eligible)
- submit the Request for Commonwealth Assistance form to your provider by the census date
- have an available HELP balance
- provide your provider with your Student Identifier (USI) prior to the first census date (for new enrolments from 1 January 2021) unless an exemption applies
- be assessed as a genuine student and as academically suitable for your unit(s) of study
- not undertake more than 2 years' worth of higher education study in the last 12 months (unless your provider has approved a higher study load).
To apply for FEE-HELP you will need to read the FEE-HELP information booklet and then request this option on your application form. Once you accept your Letter of Offer you will be provided with a FEE-HELP Application form to complete. Please note that you are only eligible for FEE-HELP if you are enrolled into an eligible subject of study by the census date. Alternatively, you may choose to pay the fees yourself as specified in your Letter of Offer. Please note, you are required to repay your HELP loan through the taxation system once your income exceeds the government’s set minimum thresholds. The current minimum threshold may be found on the government's website.
